For a healthy and happy life “Together with My Cat”
Cats do not speak words as humans do. Patient cats do not express their discomfort with their expressions and attitudes until their conditions become severe. Therefore, until a big abnormality is observed, your cat is less likely to visit a veterinary clinic.

Cat owners should keep it a habit to observe and understand their cat’s health conditions, and if there is any abnormal condition, please consult a veterinarian as soon as possible.

“Together with My Cat” was born from the hearts of cat owners who wish their beloved cats to live healthily for a long time.

Preparation before testing:
Cats may not like having the cotton swab in their mouth the first time you use it. Please do not push too much and gradually let the cat get used to being touched around the mouth while petting and massaging the cat at the same time.

How to use:
Do the test 30 minutes after eating or drinking. Open the kit just before testing. Do not touch the result part.

Soak the cotton swab thoroughly in the cat's saliva.

Place the cotton swab along a test paper guide.

Close the test paper cat's mouth along the dotted line and press it in several times with your fingers.

Remove the cotton swab. Do not reuse it since the reagent has come in contact with it.

After 60 seconds, judge by the color that appears in the result part.
(pH)
It is said that when the pH is low, tooth decay and cavities are more likely to occur.
(Hb)
Generally, as the periodontal disease progresses, bleeding is observed.
When bleeding, Hb may be detected in saliva.

Birth Story of “Together with My Cat”

“Together with My Cat” was born from my personal experience where my “Naruto-san” developed urinary blockage.

At the time, I had little experience with cats, so it took me a long time to notice that anything was wrong. I was deeply sorry for what I allowed to happen to “Naruto-san.”

From this experience, I thought that if we could check our cats’ health regularly and easily like with a medical checkup, then we could achieve early detection. I thought that this was an important thing to do even if there were no abnormalities. Using multiple test kits can help determine not just abnormalities through urine, but also a variety of conditions cats might experience.

Also, by comparing results regularly, cat parents have more advanced warning — which means they can get veterinarian help earlier for better outcomes. My hope is that every cat enjoys a healthy life for a long time without struggling with illnesses.

Supervised by a Specialist

This product was designed under the supervision of Professor Yoshihito Shimazu from Azabu University.

Mr. Shimazu graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Azabu University. He became interested in the odontology while studying for his graduate thesis while enrolled in the Department of Pathology in the School of Life Dentistry at The Nippon Dental University. Shimazu has studied how oral lesions such as periodontal diseases and oral tumors can progress into maxillofacial development and deformities, and dental caries (cavities) and their remineralization.

In 2014, he transferred to the School of Life and Environmental Science and has been mainly studying how phytochemicals in vegetable scan work as a preventative solution against oral disease. Since 2020, he has also served as a curator of The Life Museum of Azabu University and found that many skeleton specimens had their jawbones melted when observing animal specimens exhibited in the museum. This led to his curiosity regarding the origins of periodontal disease bacteria and its link with periodontal diseases and infections. Therefore, Mr. Shimazu is expanding the study of periodontal disease bacteria not only in pet animals but also in animals in zoos and aquariums and wild animals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are the results using "Together with My Cat"?

It has a margin of error of 10% or less.

What should I do when the results show abnormal values?

Please observe your pet’s condition, and we recommend consulting a veterinarian if you are worried.

What should I do when the results are unclear?

The darkness of the colors tends to be fuzzy or unclear, so we have made the hue clear according to each threshold. When the color does not fall under either of the closest sample colors, the value is assumed to be right in the middle. If the value shows an abnormality, please observe your pet’s condition and we recommend consulting a veterinarian if you are worried.

How often do you recommend giving the "Open Your Mouth" test?

We would recommend performing the test once every 2 months.

It says it was supervised by a college professor, but why was this not supervised by a veterinarian? Does Professor Shimazu only specialize in dentistry?

Dr. Shimazu is not a veterinarian, but he is a specialist who has done interdisciplinary studies on oral disease in humans and animals, specializing in oral disease and anatomy. There are many clinical study cases on urine and water for mammals, but since veterinarians are not specialists in dentistry in most cases, the clinical understanding is not sufficient. Therefore, we partnered with Dr. Shimazu who is both a dentist and a specialist in animal oral hygiene.

Am I going to receive test papers with Japanese written on them?

The overseas version is printed in English.
